Google Pixel phones offer one of the smoothest eSIM experiences. Here is how to set it up on Android 14 and 15.
π Installation Steps
- Open Settings.
- Tap Network & internet.
- Tap SIMs.
- Tap Add SIM (or the + icon).
- Select "Download a new eSIM".
- Scan the QR code from your Roamiya email.
- Tap Download to confirm.
βοΈ Essential Configuration
After the download is complete:
- Tap on your Google Pixel Settings > Network & internet > SIMs.
- Select your new Roamiya eSIM.
- Toggle "Use SIM" to ON.
- Toggle "Mobile Data" to ON.
- Toggle "Roaming" to ON (Required for international data).
Pro Tip: You can rename the SIM to "Travel" or the country name (e.g., "Japan") to simplify things.
πΆ Managing Dual SIM
Your Pixel can keep two SIMs active at once:
- Calls/SMS: Use your Physical SIM (Home).
- Data: Use your Roamiya eSIM.
To set this up, go to Network & internet > SIMs > Primary SIM and ensure "Mobile Data" is switched OFF there, or strictly select the eSIM as the data preference.
Troubleshooting
- No Signal? Toggle Airplane mode on/off.
- Can't Scan? Tap "Need help?" on the scan screen to enter the manual activation code.
