You removed an eSIM profile from your phone and now you need it back. The short answer is that the original QR code cannot be scanned again. This page explains why, and walks you through what you can do next.
When you first scan a QR code, the eSIM profile is downloaded from a secure provisioning server and bound to your specific device. Once you delete that profile from your phone:
- The provisioning server marks the download as consumed.
- The QR code becomes permanently invalid.
- The profile cannot be re-downloaded or restored.
This is not a Roamiya policy -- it is part of the GSMA eSIM standard that all carriers and eSIM providers follow. The one-time-use restriction exists to prevent the same profile from being cloned onto multiple devices.
Confirm whether the profile is really gone:
- iPhone: Settings > Cellular. If you see the eSIM listed with a toggle, it is still installed -- you may have just turned the line off rather than deleting it.
- Android: Settings > Connections > SIM Manager (Samsung) or Settings > Network & internet > SIMs (Pixel). Check whether the eSIM is listed as active or inactive.
If the profile is still there but the line is toggled off, just turn it back on. No further action needed.
This is the fastest path back to connectivity. You buy a fresh plan and install it with a new QR code.
Browse destination plans to find the right plan for your trip and install immediately.
In some cases, we may be able to issue a replacement code. This depends on the plan status (whether data was already consumed, how long ago it was purchased, and whether this is a first occurrence). There is no guarantee, but it is worth asking if:
- You deleted the eSIM before your trip started and never used any data.
- This is your first time experiencing this issue.
- The plan was purchased very recently.

You do not want to buy a replacement eSIM and run into the same problem. Before placing a new order:
- Do not remove the eSIM after your trip unless you are certain you will not revisit that destination. An installed eSIM profile that you are not using takes no resources and causes no issues.
- Label your eSIMs clearly (for example, "Japan Travel" or "Europe 30-Day") so you do not accidentally remove the wrong one.
- Before a factory reset, note which eSIM profiles you have installed. Factory resets typically delete all eSIM profiles, and the same one-time-use restriction applies.
Per our
Refund Policy, user-deleted eSIMs are generally not eligible for refunds because the product was successfully delivered and the data was available for use. If the deletion was caused by a technical issue rather than a manual removal, contact support with the details and we will review the case.
